Hello, I’m Dave Swanson.
A veteran UX Designer with over 12 years of experience and a deep-rooted love for solving complex challenges and fostering team collaboration. My background in visual design has allowed me to contribute to a diverse range of projects across Mobile, PC, and Console platforms, blending creativity with functionality.
With expertise spanning both tools and gameplay design, I offer a versatile, all-in-one leadership approach. Whether it’s designing intuitive systems, planning both short and long-term strategies, mentoring teams, driving process improvements, conducting internal research, or managing playtests, I bring a hands-on, comprehensive mindset to every project. I’ve even served as an interim director for over six months, refining my leadership skills and understanding the bigger picture of game development.
Originally from the Midwest, I grew up immersed in a unique culture shaped by emo, punk, and hockey—experiences that have heavily influenced both my design style and approach to teamwork. My visual work fuses modern aesthetics with energetic, bold elements, while my UX philosophy emphasizes empathy and the user experience, always considering the broader impact of every design decision.
As a leader, I value honesty, transparency, and mentorship. My goal is not to dictate but to empower my team, helping them grow and surpass expectations so they can confidently take on new challenges and carry the torch forward.
